Los Angeles Chargers running back Melvin Gordon is headed to his first-career Pro Bowl, the Chargers and the NFL announced Monday.
Gordon was originally selected as a third-alternate for the all-star game.
Gordon rushed for a team-high 997 yards this season, 13th in the NFL. He also led the team and tied for ninth in the NFL with 12 touchdowns: 10 rushing and two receiving. Gordon finished the season with 1,416 total yards from scrimmage (997 rushing and 419 receiving), sixth in the League.
The 2017 Pro Bowl will be played Sunday (Jan. 29) at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida. Kickoff is 5 p.m. PT and the game will be televised nationally by ESPN.
