Maranatha Community Church’s Couples Ministry will host “The Marriage Covenant,” with Dr. Ed Haygood of Agape Christian Fellowship as the guest speaker on Saturday, January 15, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The session event will be held in Maranatha’s Koinonia Hall, located at 3800 West King Blvd., Los Angeles.

The one-day conference is open to married couples, couples that are seriously dating, or single persons who want to gain valuable knowledge.  The donation is $60 per couple or $30 per person and includes a continental breakfast, lunch, and all conference materials.

“Last August, Dr. Haygood was the guest speaker at Maranatha’s three-day Couples Retreat in Indian Wells.  The experience was so powerful and life changing that the couples felt it should be open to the entire church and community,” said Dr. Billy G. Ingram, founder and pastor of Maranatha Community Church.

Dr. Haygood is a highly educated scholar, who received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Special Education in 1960 at San Jose State University. He furthered his studies and obtained a Master’s degree in Health and Safety Education in 1971 from California State University at Los Angeles. In 1978, he obtained his Ph.D. in Bible Exposition from the California Graduate School of Theology.  His literary accomplishments include three books, Why the Tithe?, What Makes Christmas Special, and The Goodness of God.

“Dr. Haygood had the privilege of sitting under the tutelage of professors such as Dr. Charles Stanley, Dr. Adrian Rodgers, Dr. Sidlow Baxter, and Dr. Vernon McGee. Also, Dr. Haygood is gifted in expository teaching, focusing on Bible truths and explaining the rich meanings of the Bible’s original Greek and Hebrew words.

“He likewise ministers as a guest speaker at churches and various ministries throughout the Los Angeles metropolitan area, including effective outreaches to foreign students,” said Dr. Ingram.

Contact the Maranatha church office at (323) 295-4044 for more information on the upcoming conference.
