Ludacris will help to crown a new Miss Malibu and Miss Malibu Teen USA


A private Malibu estate previously owned by music icon Cher will soon be the site of the 5th Annual Miss Malibu Pageant, one of Malibu’s premier annual events. In previous years, the Pageant has been attended by some of Los Angeles’ most influential professionals, and this year will be no exception. The Pageant will take place on Sunday, August 23, 2009, and will include 40 contestants who have served as community leaders and are top achievers both academically and philanthropically.

Former Miss Teen USA Tami Farrell who was crowned Miss Malibu 2009 prior to becoming Miss California USA 2009 will be in attendance to crown her successor. Joining Tami will be Miss Teen Malibu 2009, Greer Grammer, daughter of Emmy award winning actor Kelsey Grammer who recently launched her acting career by appearing in an episode of Nickelodeon’s hit show iCarly. KTLA’s Emmy-winning Entertainment News Anchor Ross King will be joining Tami Farrell as co-host of this year’s festivities.

GRAMMY(r) Award winning music superstar and actor Chris ‘Ludacris’ Bridges will serve as one of ten judges who will select the new queens. The Ludacris Foundation, a non-profit Atlanta-based organization that serves, as Ludacris’ vision to use music and the arts to connect with urban youth will also receive a portion of the proceeds from the event.

The other distinguished judges will include Khloe Kardashian (Reality TV Star), Elisabeth RÅ¡hm (Law and Order, Miss Congeniality 2), Eric Viskovicz (Celebrity Personal Trainer), Jeff Garner (Designer), Linda Thompson (Actress and GRAMMY Nominated Songwriter), Marnie Saitta (Casting Director), Michael Yo (E! Celebrity Correspondent), Shaun Toub (Iron Man) and Timothy Durham (CEO, National Lampoon). Atlantic Records recording artist Ryan Cabrera and American Idol Season 7 finalist Michael Johns will also be in attendance to provide live musical entertainment.

This year’s Official Miss Malibu Sponsors include: Oxygenetix, Janet Harris’ Skin Rejuvenation Center, California Fresh & Fit, Erzulinea for FredaLA, bubululu, Live In Fitness Enterprise, h20, Triplet’s Gourmet, EuroCar Inc., j. elaine, QuickTrim and Prophetik.

Title holders of Miss Malibu USA 2010 and Miss Malibu Teen USA 2010 will go on to compete for the title of Miss California USA 2010 and Miss Teen California 2010 in November at the Riviera Resort and Spa in Palm Springs, CA.
