Local workers at Inglewood Forum with Mayor Butts

After a great deal of careful design and preparation work, the Madison Square Garden Company’s renovation of the legendary Forum has taken a major step forward, said a spokesperson for the project.  Fifteen people were recently hired to remove all 17,000 seats at the Forum, to make room for improved seating. Seven of those workers are from Inglewood – a nearly 50 percent local hire rate. As part of the job, these local workers were trained in abatement work, giving them skills they can bring to future work as well. These residents are earning a prevailing wage, along with all other employees who are hired onto the project (which currently includes five additional Inglewood residents). Many more local residents will be hired onto this project as it moves forward. The workers are employed by TEGLVI Environmental Services Inc.
