Annual Fundraiser to Honor Scholarship Recipients from Local High Schools
The Foothill Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. announced today, they will honor their 2008-2009 Scholarship Recipients at their high tea fundraiser later this month.Â The Scholarship Tea, which is an annual benefit for the chapter will take place May 17, 2009, 1 pm at the Farnsworth Park Community Center located at 568 Mount Curve Avenue in Altadena, California. This year’s scholarship recipients are Aderonke Aderonmu of Burbank High School, Rosmond Russell of Glendora High School, Erin McGlover of Blair I.B. Magnet High School and Olivia Bellinger of Pasadena High School. Each high school senior will receive $1,000 to assist with the cost of tuition at the college or university of their choice.
The Scholarship High Noon Tea Fundraiser will also include great food, live entertainment, a hat contest and door prizes.
Proceeds from the Tea will benefit the Foothill Alumnae Chapter’s Scholarship Program, which provides scholarships annually to high school seniors attending schools throughout the San Gabriel Valley Area. Additional Chapter projects and programs to benefit from the proceeds are the Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy and GEMS, Arts and Letters, Social Action, and more.
