Leimert Park Hosts Obama “Unite For Change” Rally

A rally for Senator Barack Obama will be held on Saturday, June 28 at Leimert Park on Crenshaw and Vernon from 8 a.m. to noon in conjunction with Sen. Obama’s campaign calling for a national day of rallies to support the presumptive Democratic nominee for President.

The Unite For Change Voter Education and Registration Rally will be sponsored by the Los Angeles Sentinel as well as 102.3 Radio Free KJLH and 93.5 KDAY. KJLH personality Jacquie Stephens will broadcast her program “L.A. Speaks Out” live from the rally.

Local delegates from the Democratic National Party will speak at the rally and KDAY is hosting an Obama/KDAY poster contest where those planning to attend can win prizes for the most creative poster.

There will also be live music and food as well as other surprises and activities.

In response to the campaign calling for a national day of support, a committee of young adults from the political, religious and other segments of the community have organized the rally to bring together a diverse crowd to support Sen. Obama in his historic bid to secure the Presidency.
