“I’m grateful to have the support of our federal partners as we work urgently to rebuild the Palisades,” said Mayor Bass. “The EPA is working diligently to complete Phase 1 of the debris removal process while the City is cutting through red tape to help residents rebuild quickly. We are committed to ensuring a smooth and fast recovery for all Angelenos.”

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), currently in the middle of Phase 1 of the debris collection process, has made clearing hazardous materials from burn sites a top priority. An important first step is to clean up and make sure that these areas are safe for inhabitants to return to. Federal and state officials, including California Environmental Protection Agency (CalEPA) Secretary Yana Garcia, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Deputy Commanding General Major General Jason Kelly, and Presidential Envoy for Special Missions Richard Grenell, joined Mayor Bass on the scene to highlight the collaborative efforts being made to support families in their future.

Locals that need assistance can contact a nearby Disaster Recovery Center for in-person support or call (844) 347-3332. In order to guarantee that no one is left behind, the city is committed to walking with each and every citizen throughout the process.
