L.A. Kings host Black History Night
By Sentinel News Service
Published February 11, 2010

Tonight, the Kings will host their Black History Night celebration at Staples Center when they face the Edmonton Oilers at 7:30 p.m.

All fans in attendance will receive a bobblehead of Kings second-year right winger Wayne Simmonds, one of the team’s rising stars and a physical presence who can score when necessary.

Edmonton was the former team of goalie Grant Fuhr, the first Black player inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame. Fuhr won five Stanley Cups with the Oilers, including four with Wayne Gretzky.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit. The event is co-sponsored by Radio Free KJLH 102.3 FM and the Los Angeles Sentinel. For more information call 1-888-KINGS-LA or visit LAKings.com/blackhistorynight
