KJLH Receives 2012 Stellar Gospel Music Award

Radio Free KJLH-FM received a 2012 Stellar Gospel Music Award for being the Best Radio Station in a major market. The award was presented during the annual ceremony held January 14 at the historic Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, TN.

Aundrae Russell, KJLH Program Director and host of the highly popular ‘Spread the Word,’ was on hand to accept the statuette on behalf of Station Owner Stevie Wonder and General Manager Karen Slade. He also conveyed his appreciation to listeners for making the station so popular in Los Angeles.

Other top award winners included Marvin Sapp, honored as Artist of the Year, Traditional Male of the Year, CD of the Year and Traditional CD of the Year; James Fortune and FIYA, who received two awards for Group/Duo of the Year and Contemporary CD of the Year; Bebe and Cece Winans who won two awards individually and collectively; Karen Clark Sheard, who received the first-ever Albertina Walker Female Vocalist of the Year award; and artist Kristina Halloway who won the Best New Artist category.
