R&B singer Keyshia Cole confirmed the marriage between her and long time boyfriend, Daniel “Boobie” Gipson.  Gipson is currently an NBA basketball player and star guard for the Cleveland Cavilers.

The coupled started dating in 2009 and had a child named after Daniel Jr. in early 2010.

The couple hasn’t been shy about spreading the news and the channel by which they choose is the new social media wave, Twitter. Cole Tweeted, “It’s OFFICIAL!! …Mr. & Mrs. Gibson. We appreciate all the Well Wishes!” … Yeees,” tweeted Cole.  Over the weekend, Gipson even shared the couple’s wedding photos by posting them on his Twitter account.

In the new world of social media, information is shared faster than ever.  10 years ago, Cole and Gipson would have more than likely sent out wedding photographs and a fancy telegram announcing their marriage vows.  And if they were out for profit, the couple could have easily sold their wedding photographs to a tabloid magazine.  As a sign of the changing times, in today’s social networking world Gipson and the rest of the world just post breaking news and pictures to our favorite social website.  Instantly, all of our friends are notified of breaking news and in this case, the entire media world was notified of Cole and Gipson’s marriage announcement.

In a recent interview, the pair shared that they are planning a larger wedding once Cole wraps up current tour with R&B megastar R. Kelly and British superstar Marsha Ambrosius.
