Jerelyn (Jeri) Patrice Oliver was born on January 2, 1972 to Jacquelyn Newsom Oliver and James Oliver in Houston, Texas.

Jerelyn accepted Jesus as her personal savior and was baptized at an early age at Williams Memorial Temple Church of God in Christ in Houston, Texas.  She received most of her education in the Los Angeles Unified School District and spent her senior years at Carson High School.

She was a Certified Medical Assistant though she worked only a short time in this arena. She had 15 years of dedicated service with the Santa Clara Valley Transit Authority working as a bus driver, supervisor, and dispatcher. She was highly respected and looked up to by her co-workers whom she considered family.

She was called into the presence of the Lord, as written in II Corinthians 5:8, on Saturday, December 18, 2010. She was married to Rondell Mitchell.
She leaves to cherish her memory: six beautiful and loving children whom she loved and adored: Traveon Hayes, Diondre Hayes, Rhavan Mitchell, Arlena Mitchell, Ariana Mitchell, and Amani Mitchell; mother, Jacquelyn Newsom (Los Angeles); father and stepmother, James and Brenda Oliver (Austin, TX); brothers, Ken, D.J. and James Jr. (Houston, TX); and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and very dear friends.

Jeri had numerous close relatives who preceded her in death which we respectfully have not listed due to space limitations. We are joyful that they have been reunited in their heavenly home.
