Jena Blog: At Fort Worth Texas
By Evan Barnes (Sports Editor)

Feedback from Michael Baisden broadcast – things will start around 5:00 am tomorrow. As we were leaving Sweetwater, and during the Michael Baisden broadcast,  a reminder from one of the bus coordinators – Shaka – reminded everyone that “we are Ambassadors of Righteousness” and expected to bring justice and not violence to this event. We are expected to be lawful.  We were reminded that we cannot disappoint the “Jena 6” and their community with any foolishness.

Olusheyi shared a story of a gentleman that faced discrimination moving to a white neighborhood in Louisiana in the 40’, and how the gentleman handled his experience.  Olusheyi is drawing energy from the gentleman’s story and imagining a similar experience through this bus ride.

The irony is that mainstream media is focusing on OJ and giving little to no attention to this cause.

Thanks go out to Black Contractors who donated $500 toward food for our bus riders.
