Nas Signs West Coast Rapper Fashawn to Mass Appeal Label

West Coast Rapper Fashawn has officially been signed to Nas newly launched Mass Appeal imprint.  Working on his long-awaited sophomore album, The Ecology set to release September 30, he first gained attention on his debut album, Boy Meets World (2009) which led to him landing on the cover of XXXL Freshman class alongside Wiz Khalifa, J.Cole and Big Sean. “Fashawn is one of the most underrated in the game,” said Nas. The world is going to know soon. We’re excited to have him apart of the family.” The Ecology, showcases his lyrical talent and versatility with feature artist Aloe Blacc. “I took the time to really work on this project because I knew it would be important not just for my career, but for Hip Hop,” said Fashawn.

Following “Pills and Potion” Nicki Minaj latest single “Anaconda” released August 4 is on replay off her upcoming third album. The song samples “Baby Got Back” by Sir Mix-a-Lot. Minaj is featured on the feisty track “Bang Bang” with Ariana Grande and Jessie J which peaks at no. 6 on the Hot 100 and remixing Beyonce’s “Flawless.” From music to stirring controversy, she is keeping her fans and the media in frenzy, posing on the cover art explicitly for the latest track. Minaj’s music and persona continues to keep her contender gunning for her as nemesis Lil Kim has revived her beef with a new dis record “Identity Theft” August 6. She raps “Anything you tryna do, I done did it…I gave birth to your style.”

Wiz Khalifa’s upcoming album “Blacc Hollywood”

Wiz Khalifa’s fifth studio album “Blacc Hollywood” is due out August 19. He feels this is his best work yet, reports “I was able to work more hands-on with this one, sort of the way I am with my mixtapes, where we strive for the best and we really don’t settle or accept anything other than the best,” said Khalifa. Single “We Dem Boyz” released earlier this year charted top 5 on Billboard’s Hot Rap Songs. He is currently on the Under the Influence of Music tour with Young Jezzy, Ty Dolla $ign and Rich Homie Quan. Khalifa teams up with Nicki Minaj for new single “True Colors” where he gets real about loyalty in his life. “All I do is smoke weed and get paid…Jealousy I can see in their face, that green is all that I make.” Minaj comes with “They know I’m a mogul for real, I branded a color….Pink is the color, can’t wait to unveil the Pink Print cover.”
