InnerVision Academy, a creative arts nonprofit dedicated to empowering underserved youth, will hold a free Summer Art Camp in partnership with SJLI (Social Justice Learning Institute).

The program will run every Wednesday from June 11, through July 2, at SJLI, 600 Centinela Blvd., in Inglewood. According to the organizers, “The Summer Art Camp offers a unique opportunity for youth ages 12-18 to explore their creativity, gain valuable skills, and enhance their well-being.”

The InnerVision Art Camp will provide immersive workshops in visual arts, music production, dance, and creative entrepreneurship, led by industry professionals. The camp aims to engage 100 youth from underserved communities, with a focus on accessibility, diversity, and empowerment.

“Our mission is to provide youth with the tools to create, connect, and heal through art, wellness, and community,” says Kenya Russell, founder of InnerVision Academy.

“Through this camp, we are not just teaching skills; we are meeting families where they are and creating a safe space for self-expression, emotional growth, and leadership development.”

Components of the program include mentorship where each participant will work closely with professional artists and community leaders, a final art showcase at the end of the camp to celebrate the students’ work and progress, and daily wellness activities such as yoga and meditation as part of the camp’s holistic approach.

Russell added, “The InnerVision Art Camp is supported by generous donors, sponsors, and community partnerships, with a focus on ensuring that all students have access to the arts, mentorship, and empowerment at no cost.”
