On January 5, at approximately 11 a.m. (PST), Andrew Joseph Summerfield, 20, was shot multiple times at Darby Park, after working out at the Darby Park Gymnasium. Andrew later succumbed to his injuries at UCLA Medical Hospital.
Andrew was a scholar at Grand Canyon University pursuing a major in Business Administration, studying remotely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He was a member of GCU’s rugby club, had an entrepreneurial spirit and an infectious smile.
“Andrew was so loving, caring, and spiritual,” Mr. and Mrs. Summerfield said. “He had a vision for his future and the family. He loved to laugh and he loved life.”
His family is seeking answers and justice and asks that those with any information, contact Detective Rodriguez at 310-412-5246 ext. 5124 of the Inglewood Police Department (IPD case GO #2021-760) or the Inglewood Anonymous Tip Line at 888-41-CRIME (888-412-7463).
