Hundreds turned out for the annual Great American CleanUp, a partnership between Los Angeles City Councilman Herb Wesson, Los Angeles Board of Public Works and non-profit organizations Keep America Beautiful and Keep Los Angeles Beautiful. Volunteers took to the 10th Council District beautifying parkways and community spaces planting treas, landscaping and disposing of litter.
“Earth Day is everyday,” said Wesson. “We need to continue investing in our communities not only to benefit future generations, but also to inspire pride in our neighborhoods.”
The event was also sponsored by Lowe’s, Northrop Grumman and the Los Angeles Office of Community Beautification.
