In conjunction with two top NBA head coaches and Corporate Wellness International, Inc., the National College Resources Foundation (NCRF) will co-host “Heal the Community 2015” Health and Wellness Family Day on Thursday, February 19, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Barack Obama Global Preparation Academy, 1700 W. 46th Street, Los Angeles, CA 90062. Los Angeles Lakers Head Coach Bryon Scott and Brooklyn Nets Head Coach Lionel Hollins invite the community to attend this FREE family, fun and fitness event in celebration of Black History Month. Both high profile coaches are encouraging schools, youth groups, community leaders and citizens to this health and wellness extravaganza.

The event will include a variety of healthcare vendors, consumer exhibitors, giveaways and celebrity guests and Steve Wonder’s KJLH-FM 102.3 live Radio Remote. The event will have something for everyone; face painting for kids and the distribution of healthy snacks. Adult health evaluations, biometric screenings for heart, blood pressure check and diabetes testing will be available. Coach Hollins says, “I’m excited to be a part of the wellness family event. We have to understand the importance of being healthy and why a healthy lifestyle is important for not only you, but also your entire family. We want to raise our kids and be around for our grandkids, so it’s important to devise a healthy lifestyle and stick to it. Do it for you and your family!“

Doctors, nutritionists and fitness trainers will discuss the importance for living a healthy lifestyle. Coach Scott says, “I am a firm believer in exercising and eating right. It is truly something I believe in. As far as living a healthy life, wellness and fitness are two of the most important things to me. I just love what Corporate Wellness International and National College Resources Foundation is doing to bring awareness to the community. I would not pass up the opportunity to support this effort.” Scott and Hollins both, who will take time out from their busy season to bring their message of good health to the community, working together although the Lakers host the Nets the following day.

Sheila Washington, founder of Corporate Wellness International, Inc. encourages attendees to come prepared to exercise and to learn user-friendly workout techniques and dancing, She said, “I’m so EXCITED that Corporate Wellness International Inc. and National College Resources Foundation have teamed up to produce this family wellness health fair! Being a certified wellness trainer and book author who has published four wellness books, it is so important that we constantly educate ourselves about how to stay healthy. It’s lifestyle management. I’m so grateful during Black History Month that two of my closest friends, Scott and Hollins are teaming up with our efforts to encourage the Los Angeles community about good nutrition and to incorporate fitness as a way of life!!!”

“We are excited to partner with Corporate Wellness International in bringing resources and information on health and wellness for our community. Black History Month is important to not just the Black Community, but to all communities and this event allows us to focus on health and knowing how diabetes and heart disease plague our community. And to have two great NBA coaches host the event with us is truly awesome,” says Theresa Price from the National College Resources Foundation. The American Heart Association, Diabetes Treatment Center, Sickle Cell Foundation and the Cancer Society will be on-hand distributing literature and talking with attendees about good health practices.
