Greater Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church will observe the 29th Anniversary of Pastor Solomon L. Drake and First Lady Isabelle Francis Drake on Sunday, September 18, and Sunday, September 25, at the 8 a.m., 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. worship services.

Setting the tone for each service is the theme, ‘Our Pastor, A Vessel Chosen By God to Lead Us Through Divine Revelation.’ The scripture references are Jeremiah 3:15, Ephesians 4:11 and 13-14, and John 21:15-17.

The special guest will be Pastor Terry Brown of Liberty Baptist Church in Los Angeles on September 18, at 4 p.m. The Liberty choir and congregation will also participate. On September 25, at 4 p.m., Rev. J. Stewart McKnight, pastor of New Hope Baptist Church in Los Angeles, will close out the celebration of love. Also, designated members will deliver special tributes to Pastor Drake and Sis. Drake at each service.

Serving as chairpersons for the celebration are the brother and sister team of Mark Pittman and Maran Pittman, who shared, “Greater Ebenezer has experienced great growth during the pastoral leadership of Pastor Drake. Many ministries have been established, the church has been expanded, and we opened the Solomon L. Drake Academy which houses a state-of-the art library and Technology Center along with other enhancements designed for spiritual growth.

“Sis. Drake exemplifies the true example of a first lady by her love and support of the church and of her husband. Her faith in God was demonstrated even more as she faced and overcame personal challenges.

“We extend a cordial invitation to everyone to come, celebrate and fellowship with us as we honor our beloved Pastor and his family through these services of love and appreciation,” said the chairpersons.

Greater Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church is located at 5300 South Denker Avenue in Los Angeles. For information, call the church office at (323) 759-4996.
