Greater Ebenezer Celebrates Convocation 2014

Children and adults will enjoy Convocation 2014 sponsored by Greater Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, 5300 South Denker Avenue in Los Angeles.  The gathering will open on Wednesday, April 9, and continue through Friday, April 11, at 6:30 p.m.

The theme is ‘The Foundation of God Standeth Sure’ with a scripture reference of II Timothy 2:19.

“We invite the public to share these three nights of joyful celebration as we reflect and remember the Foundation.  There will be classes for all ages, from toddlers, children, youth, young adults to mature, seasoned men and women of the laity and ministers of the Gospel,” said Pastor Solomon L. Drake.

The agenda will include worship, prayer, songs and Bible Study. The instructors will be Pastor Drake, lay ministry workers and ministers from Greater Ebenezer. Also, clergy from throughout greater Los Angeles will preach and teach at the convocation.

The featured ministers are Pastor Albert Nicholas of Pilgrim Baptist Church on Wednesday, Pastor Sylvester Washington of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church on Thursday, and Pastor Williams S. Epps of Second Baptist Church on Friday.  The instructors will be Pastor Reginald Pope of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Pastor Harold Mitchell of Greater Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church, Pastor Charles Crowfield of Greater Olivet Missionary Baptist Church, Pastor Emeritus Williams Thurmond of Park Windsor Baptist Church, and Pastor Lovely Haynes of St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church.
