Grandma’s Healthy Food

Grandma’s Healthy Food relies on nothing but organic vegetables and fruit to create healthy takes on old favorites.

It’s good, wholesome vegetarian/vegan you can eat and enjoy.

We are well into the New Year and that means many of us are either going strong or falling short with our resolutions. The most popular resolution of all around this time of year is to improve our health and our diet. If you’re looking for an edge to help gain the advantage, you might want to try Grandma’s Healthy Food (GHF).

GHF is a healthy food alternative catering service that specializes in making all the favorites in a healthy way. Dr. Frank Turner Price wants to give people a healthier choice when it comes to the food we eat. Started two years ago, GHF was born from personal experiences with bad health. After Price turned his situation around, he wanted everyone to get the same benefits too.

“Doing research and consulting with holistic health care specialists, they all said the same thing, ‘You have to get the poison out of your body,’” said Price. “Meat is considered poison.”

GHF is a vegetarian/vegan catering service using organic vegetables. There are no hydrogenated oils, animal derivatives, refined sugars, chemicals, GMOs, MSGs, gluten, eggs, butter or diary products. Many find going vegan/vegetarian difficult yet Price has received positive responses.

“The response has been very good,” said Price. “Sometimes, with [the] African American [community], it can be difficult because [we] have been brainwashed to think that you’ve got to have meat but the reception has been very good.

“People like the food and it’s healthy for you—that’s the most important thing.”

What kind of cuisine does GHF offer? The menu is full of familiar favorites made healthier and full of flavor. At GHF you can find taco casserole, lasagna, asian stir-fry, red beans and rice, chili, vegan corn bread, macaroni & cheese, burritos and much more.

“People are not exposed to [vegetarian/vegan foods] and the meat industry is not going to tell you to eat carrots or broccoli,” said Price. So he’s decided to do tell everyone with GHF.

They deliver meals to offices and residences at lunchtime and deliver multiple meals to those who want our healthy food on a daily basis and those who want to have food at home to share with friends and family members. GHF currently provides same day lunch delivery service to their target areas, which includes the Park La Brea, Miracle Mile and Mid-Wilshire areas.

Outside of our their area, GHF requires customers order in advance and to order at least 5 items. They’ve expanded their delivery areas to include Crenshaw-Baldwin Hills, South Los Angeles, West Los Angeles, and Downtown Los Angeles.
