The Southern California Region of the Ninth Episcopal District of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church will sponsor two Good Friday Services at Hays Tabernacle C.M.E. Church, 10121 South Central Avenue in Los Angeles.
Bishop James B. Walker is presiding prelate of the Ninth District and the Rev. Julio Andujo is host pastor.
The Women’s Missionary Societies of the Los Angeles District and Los Angeles/San Diego District will hold a joint worship on April 6, at 9 a.m. Scheduled to preach ‘The Seven Last Words’ are the Rev. Gloria Coburn, the Rev. Marilyn Batchelor, the Rev. Emma Burrus and the Rev. Jackie Maye.
Mrs. Shirley Levingston is host Missionary President, Ms. Billie Jackson is Los Angeles District president, Ms. Danette Armstead is Los Angeles/San Diego District president, Ms. Wanda Thomas is Southern California Region president and Mrs. Bettye F. Nichols is president emeritus.
At 12 noon, the Southern California Ministerial Alliance will host the ‘Seven Last Words Of Jesus Christ.’ The Rev. Joseph C. Gardner, Sr., is the Alliance president.

‘Drama at Calvary’ will be presented on Good Friday, April 6, at 12 noon at Lewis Metropolitan C.M.E. Church, 4900 South Western Avenue in Los Angeles. Presiding Elder Wendell Oldham is host pastor.

The Long Beach Ministers Alliance will hold a ‘Celebration Style’ Sunrise Service on Sunday, April 8, at 5:45 a.m., at Artesian Well Church, 3960 Gilman Street in Long Beach.
Dr. James P. Norman is host pastor and the Rev. Brandon Cook, pastor of Long Beach Christian Fellowship, will deliver the morning message of inspiration and encouragement.

Resurrection Services on Sunday, April 8, begin at 8 a.m., with early worship, announced Pastor Jeffrey Lewis.
At 10 a.m., the Youth Resurrection Presentation, under the leadership of Sister Tamikae Freeman, will be held. Morning worship starts at 11 a.m., with Pastor Lewis delivering the message commemorating Christ’s resurrection and the New Antioch Mass Choir providing music.

‘The Passion of The Christ’ movie will be screened on Friday, April 6, at Price Chapel, 4000 West Slauson Avenue in Los Angeles.

The Good Friday Service on April 6, will lead off Trinity’s ‘Grand Easter Celebration’ in its edifice located at 2040 West Jefferson Boulevard in Los Angeles.
According to Pastor Alvin Tunstill, Jr., “We invite the entire community to this celebration as well as our worship service of prayer and praise for our risen Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 8, at 10 a.m. In addition, the Children’s Sunday School program will begin at 8:45 a.m. on Easter.”
