Gloria D. Gray, West Basin Board President Elected Vice President of Metropolitan Water District Board of Directors
West Basin Municipal Water District (West Basin) Board President Gloria D. Gray has been elected to serve as Vice President of the Metropolitan Water District (MWD) Board of Directors. Director Gray has represented West Basin on the MWD Board for nearly two years.
“I’m honored to have been elected to serve as Vice President by my esteemed colleagues on the MWD Board and will continue to collaborate with all of the member agencies to find solutions to our water supply reliability issues here in Southern California,” said Gray. “Together, we’re taking a close look at imported water supplies, effective conservation programs, and development of more local supplies like desalination and water recycling to ensure that Southern Californians have a reliable water supply now and into the future.”
Director Gray was recently re-elected to the West Basin Board to serve a second 4-year term. Gray additionally serves on the Delta Stewardship Council in Sacramento to resolve water supply, environmental and stewardship issues pertinent to one of Southern California’s largest imported water supplies, the Sacramento-San Joaquin Bay Delta. Director Gray has also been active as a member of the L.A. County Water Quality Commission, served two terms on the Inglewood School Board, and has had a well established career as a health and human services administrator.
In addition to serving as Vice President on the MWD Board, Gray serves on MWD’s Executive Committee and on the Organization and Personnel, Water Planning and Stewardship, Legislation, and Communications Committees and on the Special Committee on the Bay Delta.
