On Sunday, March 14th, 2010, from 5 p.m. until approximately 9 p.m. the family of Crystal Rene’ Crawford will be hosting a FREE concert and open community event, STOP THE VIOLENCE, START THE HEALING, in honor of loved ones killed by street/gang violence.

Held at the New Creation Christian Faith Center (8862 S. Western Ave, Los Angeles), the family is anticipating to pack the house with 500-800 attendees.

Several government officials are confirmed to attend and/or speak. Special guest performances will include LIVE singing, dancing, rapping, poetry and much more!

Anyone who has lost a loved one due to street/gang violence can have their loved one honored at the event as well. Submit requests by Friday, March 12th via email to

Crystal’s Background

Crystal Rene’ Crawford was an innocent by-stander, slain in early June 2009 during a drive-by shooting. Inglewood Police officials believe it to be gang-related. Crystal, 24 years old, was a 2007 graduate of the prestigious BIOLA University. She served her community in the entertainment industry, faith-based institutions and local public and private schools throughout Southern California. As a teacher at St. Francis X. Cabrini Catholic School (L.A.) and St. John’s Lutheran School (El Segundo), Crystal touched many young lives she taught and worked with.

At a young age, Crystal worked on the Emmy-nominated “Put Your Mark On Life” anti-graffiti campaign with local law enforcement. Throughout her life, Crystal a.k.a. C-Babe, has rapped, danced, sang, and/or worked alongside artists such as Pink, Brandy, Tyrese Gibson, IMX (formerly Immature), Mary Mary, Howard Hewitt, Curtis Blow, as well as at the KJLH radio station with Stevie Wonder and DJ’s El Vee and Kevin Nash.
