Gene Hale, Chairman of President Obama’s Small Medium Enterprise Export Committee will serve four more years as the chair of the committee.

Hale was appointed by President Obama on July 6, 2010. The President’s Export Council (PEC) is the principal national advisory committee on international trade. The council advises the President of government policies and programs that affect U.S. trade performance; promotes export expansion; and provides a forum for discussing and resolving trade-related problems among the business, industrial, agricultural, labor, and government sectors. Hale is CEO and President of G&C Equipment Corporation, one of the nation’s largest black-owned businesses. President George W. Bush appointed Hale to the Presidents Board of Advisors on Historically Black Colleges and Universities. He is also appointed by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to the California Small Business Board and was appointed by supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas to the Los Angeles County Small Business Commission. He is currently Chairman of the Greater Los Angeles African American Chamber of Commerce.

Robert Henrikson), UAL Corporation Chairman and CEO (Glenn Tilton), Verizon Chairman and CEO (Ivan Seidenberg), The Dow Chemical Company Chairman and CEO (Andrew N. Liveris), Ernst & Young Chairman and CEO (James S. Turley), Archer Daniel Midland Company CEO (Patricia A. Woertz), Vermeer CEO (Mary Vermeer Andringa), Carpenter & Company CEO (Richard L. Friedman), United Association General President (William Hite), Warburg Pincus Co-President (Charles R. Kaye), Greater Properties CEO (Robert A. Mandell), Ford Motor Company CEO (Alan Mulally) and Magno International Founder and President (Raul Pedraza).

Other members of the Council includes Executive Branch Members (Secretary of Energy-Steven Chu, Hillary Rodham Clinton-Secretary of State, Karen G. Mills-Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration, Gary Locke-Secretary of Commerce, Janet A. Napolitano-Secretary of Homeland Security, Timothy F. Geithner-Secretary of the Treasury, Ronald Kirk-U.S. Trade Representative, Fred P. Hochberg-President and Chairman of the Export-Import Bank of the U.S. and Thomas J. Vilsack-Secretary of Agriculture).

Congressional Branch Members include Senator Sherrod Brown, Senator John Cornyn, Senator Byron Dorgan, Senator Mike Enzi, Senator Debbie Stabenow, Congressperson Phil English, Congressperson Robin Hayes,   Congressperson Jay Inslee,  Congressperson  Charles W.  Pickering and  Congressperson David Wu.
