Find your Rhythm

Alfonzo Tucker

Hello world, another day has pasted and I find myself moving closer and closer to finding my personal rhythm. I hope you all are traveling down the same trail, the upbeat rhythm of life that leads you to prosperity. Imagine yourself dwelling within the mind state of opulence and eventually that becoming reality! Those thoughts alone are encouraging for me; I hope that they inspire you!

Normally my day starts with a mad rush to get out of the house in a timely fashion, just to make it to work on time. What I noticed is when I meditate before work and pray while I am driving to the office, my attitude is calm and I process information more quickly. This is the type of rhythm that helps me through life. There are days where I my not meditate or eat breakfast too late, those days are when my rhythm is thrown off completely.

Imagine listening to your favorite song. Mine happens to be, “For the Love in You, by the Isley Brothers”. Whether it is a fast pace beat with heavy lyrics or a smooth melodic tone with heart felt character. Allow your day to be in motion with the tempo of your favorite song. If you do not have a favorite song, explore any genre of music that best suites your personality and give it a test run.

For example; my personality has two very basic parts. The first is overwhelmingly serious. So serious that some my view me as odd and awkward on occasion. The second aspect of my personality is goofy to the second power. So either I am staring at the world with an inquisitive gaze or joking with whomever shares the same space with me. So my point is this, your rhythm should balance out your personality. Within my favorite song, these lyric’s lift my spirits and calm me to a relaxed state that is in the middle of the serious and goofy aspect of my individuality. “Paradise I have within, can’t feel insecure again, you’re the key, and this I see”.

Fortunately, I never become bored with that song nor do the lyrics ever become mundane. Yet, I understand that you all may not feel the same about your favorite song. Rotate that vibe. Pick a song of the day, week, month and or year. And say your not the musically type; choose a mind state to dwell in that suites your flavor. Live life to that rhythm, as I believe everything that we do or strive to achieve has a tempo. If you’re fighting ill behavior that requires a method of maneuvering to eliminate unhealthy repetitive activities, your daily beat must change (hence the change in your personal rhythm).

All things that exist have rhythm; some may operate with a beat that rest within the pace of their own heart and their steps through everyday life. This we have control of, that type of harmony allows one to dwell within an enlightened state or simply not. Find your rhythm; you can use music, writing, exercise, reading and so much more. And when you do discover your rhythm of life, allow that rhythm to become the most consistent part of your personality, and then trust yourself as the key to your own paradise!
