Rev. Joseph Curtiss
The United Gospel Outreach Summer Camp is about to start and Rev. Joseph Curtiss is issuing a final call to adults to help youth who would like to participate.
“Our director and staff are getting ready for the 2011 Summer Camp at Arrowhead Springs from Sunday, July 3, through Saturday, July 9, and we have excited campers registering with eager anticipation of a great week of camping,” said Rev. Curtiss, UGO founder and owner of Word of Life Christian Bookstores.
“Yet, there are others who would like to attend, but do not have adequate funds. This year, UGO will have to raise funds for each camp counselor who serves as a volunteer at the camp, often by taking vacation time from their jobs. This limits the funding for student scholarships,” he said.
Despite this challenge, Rev. Curtiss and his wife, Mrs. Evelyn Curtiss, are optimistic that donations will come in to provide for more youth to attend the camp. “By the grace of God, this could be the most fruitful summer camp experience of our past 38 years of sending youth to summer camp. And it is not too late to contribute. You can still play a vital role in making a difference in the life of a teen by sponsoring a camper or helping a parent send a child to enjoy one week at a Christian camp,” said Rev. Curtiss.
“Our motto is ‘Win, disciple and send.’ We also believe in the saying, ‘grow a youth and grow a church.'”
