Homebuyers can get up to $213,000 in downpayment assistance
Recently, Faith and Community Empowerment (FACE), alongside partners Supervisor Hilda Solis, L.A. County African American Employees Association, L.A. County Asian American Employees Association, L.A. County Chicano Employees Association, and L.A. County Hispanic Managers Association, invited media for a press conference announcing their 28th Annual Homeownership Fair.
Lauro Guzman, a FACE Homebuyer Education client, purchased his first home, a $388,000 property in the city of Los Angeles with the help of $230,000 in down payment assistance. According to FACE officials, he paid only $7,200 out of pocket

The 28th Homeownership Fair will be held at Glory Church of Jesus Christ, located at 1801 S. Grand Ave., in Los Angeles on Saturday, June 21, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The fair will feature plenary sessions covering various homeownership topics, including credit, the home buying process, special bank products, down payment assistance, and foreclosure prevention resources and programs.
Participants will learn about innovative bank programs with no minimum credit scores, no PMI, 0% down payment, and no closing costs, offering up to $213,000 in assistance for low-income individuals and $115,000 for moderate income. Attendees will be able to explore exhibit booths, engage with industry experts, and access valuable resources. FACE was excited to announce that they have over 1,400 people already registered for the event!
“We hope that Lauro Guzman’s story will inspire more individuals, who are dreaming of homeownership, that it is attainable, and we are here to help!” said Hyepin Im, FACE president and CEO.
