The LANGSTON BAR ASSOCIATION’S Twenty Eighth annual HALL OF FAME RECEPTION AND DINNER will occur on Saturday, October 5, 2019 AT 6:00PM at The OMNI LOS ANGELES HOTEL AT CALIFORNIA PLAZA. Each year the Black event is held to honor Legends in the Legal profession who have been in practice and contributed to community service at least thirty-five years says Hall of Fame Chairperson Shonte Penland Abrams. This year’s honorees include Attorneys Jolaine Harkless, Felix Leatherwood, Jess Womack and The Honorable Glenda Veasey. The Master Of Ceremonies for the event is The Honorable Rupert Byrdsong. This year’s theme for the Langston Bar Association is LANGSTON IS FAMILY: LOOKING BACK, LOOKING FORWARD; LOOKING OUT says Attorney Byron McLain, a partner with Foley & Lardner, Law Firm. Attorney McClain is the current president of the Langston Bar Association. The mission of the Langston Bar Association is to Empower Leadership, advance the professional development of its membership, and promote the administration of justice in the Black community and the community at large. Tickets for the Black Tie (optional) event are still available. Although the event is not a fundraiser for Langston Bar Association, it raises funds for its scholarships and fellowship programs for law students.
