Crenshaw Christian Center President Angela Evans received the Ford Freedom Unsung Heroes Award for her outstanding work as a founder of Frederick K.C. Price III Schools.

The honor was presented by Pamela Alexander, Ford Motor Company Fund Director of Community Development, on June 19 during a reception at L.A. Live’s Grammy Museum. Entertainment Tonight reporter Kevin Frazier served as emcee

The award salutes individuals and organizations that have positively impacted communities with achievements that inform and inspire others. Mrs. Evans was one of 20 individuals selected from a 200+ nominee pool.

Established in 1986, FKCP III Schools reflects Mrs. Evans’ vision to bring quality education to the inner city without compromising excellence.  The competitive curriculum begins at preschool and culminates at 12th grade.

FKCP boasts a 100% high school graduation rate, a 100% college acceptance rate, championship athletic teams, impressive scholars, and over $1 million in college scholarships and grants to the students.

Located in South Los Angeles, FKCP covers 32 acres on the former Pepperdine Los Angeles campus and is now owned by Crenshaw Christian Center (CCC), home of the Faithdome.  It is accredited by Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and by the ACSI, the Association of Christian Schools International.

The school offers AP (Advanced Placement) and Honors courses, a Performing Arts Department, state of the art recording studio, a Robotics Team, Mac Computer Lab and Smart Board, an award-winning Drum line and Drill Team, and multiple championship girls and boys athletic teams.
