Greater Educational Milestones (GEMs), Andern Educational Research, Inc. in conjunction with Celerity Educational Group will present Music 4 The Soul, a benefit concert and funk fest starring Cameo, The Dramatics, Rose Royce, New Birth, Tierra and DW3.  Comedian Eddie Griffin is co-hosting (with KJLH’s Adai Lamar) as well as performing at the event.  Music 4 the Soul will take place at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on Friday, October 25 at 6:00pm with a VIP-pre-concert experience and red carpet featuring select artists from the show, community leaders, athletes and other celebrities.

One hundred percent of the proceeds will benefit AER’s GEMs initiative, which gives low income students of color who have demonstrated high academic achievements opportunities to attend private high schools and receive scholarship funding up to $20,000 to go towards tuition.

AER aims to raise $1Million in funds for its Greater Educational Milestones (GEMs) initiative with the Music 4 the Soul Benefit Concert. The GEMs’ Initiative is a high school placement program that seeks to find, advocate and support highly motivated and qualified students of color from South Los Angeles, Watts, Inglewood, and Compton and place them in private high schools. Through outreach in these communities, GEMs identifies and brings awareness to the educational opportunities available to these students. GEMs serves as a resource to our private schools while providing educational and financial support of up to $20,000 over 4 years for each student we place in a private high school.
