Dr. Margaret Pleasant Douroux, internationally acclaimed author, educator, and composer of such classics as ‘We’re Blessed’ and ‘If It Had Not Been For The Lord On My Side,’ hosts the 28th Annual Heritage Music Foundation Gospel Music Conference and Expo on June 26-29 in Los Angeles.
“This year, we have the distinct honor of introducing Earnest Pugh, (‘Let It Rain’), a new Gospel star with an astonishing five-octave range who is packing out churches and conferences in the Eastern U.S.,” said Dr. Douroux.
The Conference features more than a dozen national Gospel artists, V. Michael McKay, Calvin Rhone, and Rodney Teal, plus performances of the music of Dr. Douroux and up-and-coming new writers.
All Gospel music enthusiasts are invited to register and participate in the Heritage Mass Choir. Evening concerts Wednesday through Friday are open to the public at no charge.
HMF’s grand kick-off concert in on Wednesday, June 26, at 7 p.m., at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, 4269 Figueroa Street in Los Angeles. On Thursday, June 27, at 7 p.m., another concert takes place at Greater New Bethel Baptist Church, 601 East 99th Street in Inglewood.
The Grand Finale Concert will also be held at Greater New Bethel on Friday, June 28, at 7 p.m.
On Saturday, June 29, at 8 a.m., Dr. Douroux’s will deliver her Founder’s Message and the Annual Breakfast and Fashion Show will be held at Regency West, 3339 West 43rd Street in Los Angeles. Tickets are $30.
