Curry Temple WMS Observes Annual Day

Annual Missionary Day is set for Sunday, May 29, at 10:15 a.m., at Curry Temple C.M.E. Church, 336 East Rosecrans Avenue in Compton, announced Pastor Byron L. Smith Sr.

“We are saluting the outstanding work of our Women’s Missionary Society and everyone is invited to join us for this spirit-filled service and hear an inspiring message by our guest speaker, Ms. Verna Porter,” said Pastor Smith. Porter, the assistant city manager for the City of Compton, is a? member of Citizens of Zion M.B. Church in Compton under the leadership of Pastor B.T. Newman.

According to WMS President Linda Bailey, the theme of the service is ‘Christian Missionaries: A Light of Hope in a Troubled World. ‘ Mrs. Robin Moten, WMS vice president, is the program chair and Mrs. Bettye Nichols is WMS president emeritus.

The Curry Temple Women’s Missionary Chorus will render music for the service. Mrs. Marie Lindsey is the choral director.
