Rev. Pansy Reddick Washington
Rev. Pansy Reddick Washington, an ordained elder in the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church (C.M.E.), will be the speaker for the Women’s Day celebration on Sunday, May 29, at 11 a.m., at Crenshaw United Methodist Church, 3740 Don Felipe Drive in Los Angeles.
“We invite community members to come out for a joyful service of praise and worship organized by Ms. Carolyn Lane, chairperson of Women’s Day. Music will be supplied by the Women’s Day Chorus under the direction of Mrs. Miriam White,” said Pastor Howard Ashford.
Also, refreshments will be available following the service.
Rev. Washington is associate pastor and administrator of Phillips Temple C.M.E. Church. In this capacity, she assists in preaching the Word, teaching Bible study, administering the sacraments and visiting bereaved, sick and shut-in members.
With a deep passion for Deaf Ministry, Rev. Washington has developed Deaf Ministries in several churches in Los Angeles, Pasadena, Northridge and Chatsworth, as well as provided religious sign language training to many students and served as the first Deaf Ministry Leader for the Faithful Central Bible Church Deaf Ministry in Inglewood.
Rev. Washington is currently enrolled in a Master of Divinity program at San Francisco Theological Seminary, Southern California Campus in Pasadena. She received her Master of Science degree in counseling from North Carolina A & T State University in Greensboro, NC; her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from Bennett College in Greensboro; and Associate of Science degree in American Sign Language from El Camino College in Torrance.
A member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Rev. Washington is employed by the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, where she is the District Chief of the Managed Care Division.
