Thanks to Bishop T. Larry Kirkland, Christ Our Redeemer A.M.E. Church will debut on Radio Free KJLH on Sunday, September 4, at 7:30 a.m., sharing its spirited worship from its Orange County sanctuary with listeners throughout the southland.

“We are excited to launch this partnership with our bishop, the Right Reverend T. Larry Kirkland, Sr., to broadcast our services on the first, second, and third Sundays of each month. Bishop Kirkland has given us a great opportunity to take our ministry to another level and reach a greater audience with the Gospel,” said Pastor Mark Whitlock.

“All of our Facebook friends along with the thousands who receive our weekly e-blasts are invited to tune in to 102.3 FM and have church with us,” he said.

Bishop Kirkland, the presiding prelate of the 5th Episcopal District and president of the General Board of the A.M.E. Church, sponsors the weekly broadcast entitled, ‘The A.M.E. Connection.’ The program features his sermons as well as those by various A.M.E. pastors in 5th District, which covers 16 states and the country of India. With more than 40 years in the ministry, Bishop Kirkland is renowned for his Christ-centered, life-application messages.

Pastor Whitlock has served Christ Our Redeemer (COR) in Irvine for nearly five years. As one of the largest churches in Orange County, COR’s multi-cultural congregation has more than tripled to over 2,600 under his leadership. In addition, a multitude of outreach ministries are offered to the community including financial literacy, mortgage and housing workshops, and health awareness seminars.

Next month, on September 14, 21 and 28, COR will sponsor a free Job Resources and Career Expo to prepare individuals to secure and maintain employment. The free sessions, held at COR Church, will instruct attendees on resume writing, interviewing skills, work attire, establishing a business and writing a business plan. The Director of Human Resources for Fox Entertainment Studios along with several established business advisors will teach each class.

Christ Our Redeemer A.M.E. Church is located at 45 Maxwell Street in Irvine. For information about its activities, call (949) 955-0014 or visit
