The spiritual playbook to win the game of life will be revealed this weekend at the 8th Annual Men’s Breakfast and Christian Men’s Conference sponsored by the Men’s Ministry of Christ Our Redeemer A.M.E. Church.

The free event, held in the edifice at 46 Maxwell Street in Irvine, opens Saturday, June 16, at 7:30 a.m., and continues to Sunday, June 17, at 10:30 a.m.

“All men – grandfathers, fathers, single men and their sons – may expect to have fun, fellowship, and find out the secrets to building people, teams, stronger families, careers, and communities that win consistently,” said Pastor Mark E. Whitlock II.

“Our primary goal is to create a learning environment for men and boys to achieve success in every field of human endeavor. We are in a tough game of life and we will never achieve success without consistently practicing God’s principles.”

The guest speaker is the Rev. Dr. Gerald Kisner, pastor of Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, the oldest African American church in West Palm Beach, FL. Under his leadership, several ministries have been established to aid members and the surrounding community including the redevelopment of neglected land into 53 affordable homes.

“Then on Sunday, every father will receive the ‘Father of Year Award’ at the 10:30 a.m. service. We have the best men in Orange County, Los Angeles, and Riverside County and plan to recognize them during the worship,” said Pastor Whitlock.

“Everyone’s invited to unite with us in building healthy Christian families led by strong Christian men.”

Darrel Webb is president of COR’s Men’s Ministry. For information about both events, call the church office at (949) 955-0014.
