Published March 5, 2014

The final coaches for the 16th annual Collision All Star Basketball games featuring the top high school senior boys and girls representing the LA City Section and Southern Section have been announced.

Narbonne’s Anthony Hilliard who led the Gauchos to a No. 4 seed and near semifinal upset of top seed Westchester will pilot the boys City team that will feature the top players from Narbonne, Westchester, El Camino Real and Fairfax, respectively.

Hilliard coached Gardena to the City Division II championship in 2013 and this year turned around Narbonne, leading his team to an impressive 23-9 record and the Marine League title going 11-1.

Fairfax girls coach Judi Edwards who led the Lions to a perfect 12-0 Western League mark and the No. 1 seed in the City Division I playoffs will coach the City girls team that will feature the top players from Fairfax, Narbonne, Granada Hills and Palisades among others.

Edwards will also receive the inaugural Barbara Fiege Women Life Time Achievement Award at the Collision XVI at Redondo Union High School on April 19.

Gardena Serra’s Mckinsey Hadley, who led the Cavaliers to a first round Open Division victory in the Southern Section and coached his team to a CIF-SS Div. 4A title in 2013, will coach the Southern Section girl’s team.

Hadley’s Lady Cavs posted a 23-4 record and will play in the Southern California Regionals that begin in two weeks.

These coaches will join Loyola’s Jamal Adams and Ryan ‘Moose’ Bailey of Brentwood as coaches for the top Southern California post-season basketball games.

Adams and Bailey will coach the boys Southern Section team that will feature an abundance of talented Div. I signees.

The Southern Section girls have dominated their City counterparts winning 12 of the 15 games at Collision, but the City Section boys own an 8-7 advantage over their Southern Section rivals.

The event will begin at 12-noon with the top youth players competing in four action packed games, followed by the girls City vs. Southern Section at 5:30 p.m. and the boys City vs. Southern Section at 7p.m. Tickets for the event are priced at $10 and for more information call (310) 924-7851.
