The 54th Annual Worker’s Conference of the California Southwest Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of the Church of God in Christ (COGIC) will convene on Wednesday, January 11, through Friday, January 13, at the 88th Street Temple COGIC, 8825 South Vermont Avenue in Los Angeles.

Bishop B. R. Benbow is the Jurisdictional Prelate, Mother Joan Walker is Supervisor of Women, Superintendent Noble Henson is Administrative Assistant, and Superintendent Anthony L. Williams is the host pastor.

“Again, the conference participants will be anointed to minister to God’s people and provide an opportunity for spiritual renewal and worship of our Great God. We will be praying for the Nation, our cities and our communities. We also are praying and seeking God for souls to be saved and to be set free form the bondages of sin,” said Bishop Benbow.

“We extend an invitation to everyone to come and be blessed of the Lord as we move into 2012 asking God’s favor and blessings upon His people.”

The Conference theme is ‘Catch the Vision’ based on Proverbs 29:18 and Habakkuk 2:3. Services begin each evening at 6:30 p.m., with an Institute Hour under the guidance of Dr. Hillrie Murphy and District Missionary Lula Clark. The evening worship service will begin nightly at 8 p.m. Each night the Jurisdictional choir will provide music for the conference under the direction of Dr. Iris Stevenson and Evangelist Lillie Smarr. Elder Willie Longstreet will deliver the preached word during the Wednesday service.

Women’s Day will be observed on Thursday. The theme is ‘Godly Women Working with God’s Vision’ taken from Matthew 28:19-20 and Ephesians 4:3. The schedule includes Morning Glory Prayer at 10 a.m., Institute Hour at 6:30 p.m., and evening worship at 7:30 p.m., with Supervisor Joan Walker delivering the gospel message.

On Friday, Bishop Benbow will deliver the official address as well as pray for all workers, the sick and afflicted, and for the needs of all of the people to be met.
