CMEs Plan Leadership Training & Mid-Winter Council

Bishop James B. Walker, presiding prelate, and Lady Delois Walker will convene the 2013 Leadership Training School and Mid-Winter Council Meeting of the Southern California Region of the Ninth Episcopal District of the C.M.E. Church on Friday, December 13, through Saturday, December 14. The theme is “I Love My Church!”

Pastor Bernard M. Jackson and the members of Phillips Temple C.M.E. Church will host the event in their edifice located at 971 East 43rd Street in Los Angeles.  Presiding Elders John D. Johnson and Julio A. Andujo will also participate.

The Leadership Training School opens on Friday at 9:30 a.m. Sessions and discussion groups on renewal, giving, pastoral ministry and lay ministry will be held throughout the day.  At 7:30 p.m., a worship service is planned followed by the “All Night Fellowship Lock-in” for youth and young adults.

Saturday’s activities begin at 8 a.m., with the Youth and Young Adults Training Session.  The Mid-Winter Council business session takes place at 10 a.m.  At 12:15 p.m., the Closing Worship Service will be held.

Registration is $50 for adults. Pre-registration is available using the Mid-Winter Council Form and mailing it to the Annual Conference Treasurer, Mr. Travis Hicks, 3844 West Slauson Avenue, Los Angeles, CA,  90043.
