CME Ministers Observe Pre-Thanksgiving Service

The Ministers Alliance of the Southern California Conference Region of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church of the Ninth Episcopal District will observe its Annual Pre-Thanksgiving Service of Worship on Sunday, November 20, at 4 p.m., at Amos Memorial C.M.E. Church, 2445 West Washington Boulevard in Los Angeles.

Rev. Pansy Washington is the host pastor, the Rev. Dr. Joseph C. Gardner is the president of the Ministers Alliance, the Rev. Dr. John DeRon Johnson is presiding elder of the Los Angeles-San Diego District, Rev. Wendell Oldham is presiding elder of the Los Angeles District and Bishop James B. Walker is presiding prelate of the Ninth Episcopal District.

The theme is ‘Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow!’ The message will be delivered by Rev. Julio Andujo, senior pastor of Hays Tabernacle C.M.E. Church in Los Angeles and regional administrator of the Southern California Conference Region

A native of Los Angeles, Rev. Andujo previously served as pastor of Amos Temple C.M.E. Church in Riverside. He also gained pastoral experience at Carter Temple C.M.E. in Chicago, IL, Isom Memorial C.M.E. in Milwaukee, WI, and Carter Metropolitan C.M.E. in Danville, IL. Rev. Andujo earned a bachelor’s degree at the University of Illinois and a master’s of divinity degree at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary.

Hays Tabernacle Mass Choir will provide music under the direction of Tyree LaRue. Other C.M.E. pastors and ministers will participate in the service as well.
