CME Greater LA District Conference Opens

Worship, workshops and reports highlight the Greater Los Angeles District Conference of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church opening on Thursday, February 6, and continuing through Friday, February 7.

Presiding Elder Julio Andujo and the members of Hays Tabernacle C.M.E. Church will host the meeting in the edifice located at 10121 South Central Avenue in Los Angeles.

Also, Bishop James B. Walker, presiding prelate of the Ninth Episcopal District of the C.M.E. Church, will preach at the Communion/Missionary Service on Thursday at 7 p.m.

Activities on Friday begin with registration and breakfast at 8 a.m.  Worship and the Word starts at 9 a.m., followed by Elder Andujo’s update on the Haiti mission.  Pastoral reports and breakout sessions will be presented as well.

The afternoon agenda includes a discussion on ‘Pathway to Renewal,’ led by the Rev. Wendell Oldham, along with departmental and board reports. The conference concludes with the Elder’s Appreciation and Scholarship Service at 7 p.m.
