City Section high school basketball semifinals at CSUDH

Semifinals, Saturday at Cal State Dominguez Hills

Girls

#1 Narbonne vs. #5 Carson, 2 p.m.

Last season Narbonne was heavy favorites to knock off Carson in the City championship game, but Carson walked away with the title, just as they did the year before over Narbonne. The two teams split their regular season games this year.

#3 El Camino Real vs. #2 Fairfax, 4 p.m.

Fairfax has not played a close game in about a month.  El Camino Real has been posting some blowouts as well.

Boys

#1 Taft vs. #5 Crenshaw, 6 p.m.

It’s no surprise that Taft is in the semifinals as they routed Birmingham.  But they will have their hands full with a Crenshaw team who traveled to Palisades and left with a two point victory.

#3 Westchester vs. #7 Dorsey, 8 p.m.

Dorsey upset Fairfax by one point, while Westchester survived a late rally by Washington Prep to win by three points.  Dorsey was not highly seeded, but they may have the best team in the City.
