City of Refuge Hosts ‘Back to School’ & Mindless Behavior

Mindless Behavior, the popular teen boy band, will touch down at the 16th Annual Back to School, Think Education, Put God First, Youth Empowerment for Destiny Conference and Concert on Saturday, September 14, at the City of Refuge, 14527 South San Pedro in Gardena. 

The Back 2 School event takes place from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., under the leadership of Bishop Noel Jones, executive producer, and Dorean Edwards of Consultant Entertainment, founder and producer.

This year’s co-hosts are Kel Mitchell from Nickelodeon’s ‘The Kenan & Kel Show & All That,’ Adrian Anderson, founder of ‘Halo Tu’ Beauty,’ and Elvee Scott of KJLH Radio-Free 102.3 FM.

Also scheduled to participate are celebrities Tasha Smith, Clotee McAfee, Billionaire P.A., Omar Gooding, Carlos Knight, Carlon Jeffery, Elijah King Esq., Haskel Jackson, and Minister Lawrence.  Special music guests include VIP Dancer, Roman Collins, Nikki Potts, Javen, Lawrence Levy and Lil’ Chef.

Free lunch will be served at 12 noon. More than 2,000 school supplies will be distributed in the afternoon. The first 300 students to attend the workshop and youth entrepreneurial panel will qualify to enter a drawing for a Tablet and iPod. Also, a drawing will be held to win Monster Ncredible Headphones donated by Cannon Youth Projects, a program endorsed by Nick Cannon.

The concert starts at 6 p.m.  Tickets are $5 with proceeds benefitting the Noel Jones Scholarship Fund.
