Hairstylists, barbers, make-up artists, estheticians, nail artists, instructors and students will attend the Christian Cosmetology International Association’s (CCIA) 25TH Silver Anniversary Stellarbration.
Events begin on Friday, October 11, at 6 p.m., with dinner and show and continue on Saturday, October 12, at 9 a.m., with a Prayer Breakfast and workshops. The venue is the Luxe Sunset Boulevard Hotel, 11461 Sunset Boulevard in Bel-Air.
According to Dr. Stella Spicer-Davis, CCIA founder, “Stellarbration includes a red carpet, star-studded night of fine dining, entertainment, hair show extraordinaire, honors and awards for outstanding achievements in the Beauty Industry and Ministry.”
The honorees include Apostle Frederick and Dr. Betty Price of Crenshaw Christian Center, Dr. Jean Perez of Ablaze Ministries, Doris Mosley of Spectrum International Beauty Expo, and Jerry and Lucky White of Kizure Manufacturers Iron Works Inc.
CCIA Board Members include Hadassah Estee Davis, president; Thelma Spicer-Adams, vice-president; and Toni Davis-Golden, chief financial officer. Madison Golden, granddaughter of Dr. Spicer-Davis, also volunteers with CCIA.
In addition to CCIA, Dr. Spicer-Davis established Cosmetologists for Christ, an outreach ministry designed to assist people in the beauty industry. Members meet each month for prayer, networking and fellowship. Also, CCIA offers scholarships to future professionals.
Dr. Spicer-Davis, an ordained minister and member of Crenshaw Christian Center, has served more than 40 years as a licensed professional in the beauty industry. She is also an educator and consultant for Schwarzkopf Professional Hair Care, Inc.
