This special event, themed “A Gift to Mothers,” is hosted by Councilwoman Heather Hutt (CD10) and presented in partnership with L.A. City Council President Marqueece Harris-Dawson, Councilman Curren Price, and the Jenesse Center for Domestic Violence Intervention and Prevention.

The music festival will feature a powerhouse lineup of performers, including D-Nice, Leela James, Rahsaan Patterson, 1500 or Nothin’, Trinere, Sonora Dinamita, Las Catrinas Mariachi, Adriana Milanes Brothers, and the Fernando Pullum Performing Arts Band. From soulful serenades to vibrant Latin rhythms, the day will be filled with music that moves both the heart and soul.

But this festival is more than just great entertainment—it’s a full community celebration. Guests can look forward to delicious eats from a selection of curated food trucks, engaging family-friendly activities for all ages, and a heartfelt gesture—a special gift given to every mother in attendance as a token of appreciation. The event also carries a deeper purpose: raising funds for the Jenesse Center to support its mission to end domestic violence through prevention and intervention programs.

“We’re coming together to celebrate the women whose love, labor, and resilience hold our communities together,” said Price.

“Their strength deserves more than recognition—it calls us to act. That’s why this music festival is so much more than a tribute; it’s a powerful moment to uplift every mother’s voice through music, unity, and purpose.”

Harris-Dawson added, “Our Moms in South LA and all over the city do so much to improve the world for every generation. Their work models for us the best we can be. This is why we’re happy to partner in events that uplift and celebrate our Moms.”

“Our Mother’s Day Music Festival aims to celebrate the Mothers who breathe life into our communities every single day,” noted Hutt.

“This FREE event will offer a day full of celebration and love, all while supporting the Jenesse Center, an organization that has spent decades empowering and inspiring survivors of domestic violence.”

Rideshare and Metro travel are strongly encouraged, as parking will be limited, and attendance is expected to be high. While admission is free, early registration is advised to ensure access to the best seats and a smooth festival experience.

The event aims to bring generations together to honor the phenomenal women who give so much to our families and communities. As loved ones gather, a festive spirit of gratitude will present a joyful celebration of motherhood like no other.
