CareMore Health is expanding its care delivery model to Baldwin Hills seniors, including building a state-of-the-art CareMore Care Center on La Brea Avenue. On Thursday, October 5, CareMore will celebrate the opening of this new care center design with senior patients, dignitaries, and other community leaders.
Founded 25 years ago in Downey, California, CareMore Health is a physician-founded, physician-led care delivery system that harnesses the power of teamwork to treat the whole person. As an integrated health delivery system, CareMore is focused on providing for the entire well-being of its patients, including mental and social health.
“I am proud that CareMore continues to grow and transform, much like the patients we serve,” said Dr. Terence Rhone, director of pulmonary medicine. “By paying close attention to our patient’s needs, we’ve developed a model of care that goes beyond what is traditionally expected of a healthcare organization. We listen to our patients, and then we go above and beyond to meet their needs.
From remote monitoring to ride-sharing and social programs, such as our Togetherness Program that addresses loneliness and isolation in a clinical setting; we are working hard to keep our seniors active, happy, healthier, and living longer.”
The redesigned CareMore Care Center, constructed to meet the evolving medical and social needs of patients is the second of its design. When patients arrive, they are greeted by a concierge who directs them to the appropriate destination in the care center.
Whether they need medical attention, have an appointment to work out at the Nifty after Fifty gym, or merely want to connect with other seniors in the community, there’s a dedicated space where their needs will be met. For CareMore patients, the Care Centers are more than just a place to receive medical care, it’s where they get their exercise, meet up with friends, take cooking classes, and socially engage with the community.
“This is just another example of CareMore’s commitment to not only serving our patients but also serving families and communities by addressing head-to- toe health of our patients.” said Karen Sugano, chief operating officer of CareMore Health. “We look forward to partnering with community leaders in Baldwin Hills to improve the health of seniors and others with complex medical problems.”
Assembly member Sebastian Ridley-Thomas and other community leaders will attend the grand opening of the new community care center to celebrate with CareMore leaders and the community.
The new CareMore Care Center is located at 3711 S. La Brea Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90016. For more information, please visit www.caremorehealthsystem.com.
