Western Baptist State Convention observes Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Day on November 24, said President J. Benjamin Hardwick. African Americans are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer more often than other ethnic groups and are more likely than other groups to die from the disease. LA-area churches are asked to show support by wearing purple attire or purple ribbon or purple wristband.

Grant A.M.E. Church features Los Angeles Presiding Elder District Norman D. Copeland as guest speaker at its Homecoming Service on November 24 at 10:45 a.m., at 1129 Alamitos Ave. in Long Beach, said Pastor Michael W. Eagle.  The Rev.
