Liberty Baptist Church
will celebrate Founder’s Day honoring the late Rev. Dr. Earl C. Cotton on July 3, at 10 a.m., at 1500 West 51st Place in Los Angeles. Pastor Terry L. Brown Sr., Mrs. Mary C. Cotton, Founders Day Chair Dessie Kelly and Councilmember Bernard C. Parks will participate in renaming the intersection, ‘Cotton Square,’ and at 10 a.m., unveiling a bronze statue of Dr. Cotton, founder of Liberty. Call (310) 654-3311 for details.

Grace Temple Baptist Church will hold a ‘Street Dedication and Monument Unveiling Ceremony’ recognizing the late Pastor John H. Broadous on July 3, at 3 p.m., at 7017 South Gramercy Place in Los Angeles. Bishop Miquail Broadous, pastor, and Councilmember Bernard C. Mount Moriah Baptist Church hosts rehearsal every Monday at 7:30 p.m., for the 1,000-voice Mass Choir performing July 23 – 28, at the NAACP 102nd Annual Convention. Transfiguration Catholic Church invites the public to its carnival off Martin Luther King Boulevard at 4001 3rd Avenue in Los Angeles, said Father Michael Tang, the Administrator.
