Southern California Evangelistic Jurisdiction COGIC
began its 18th Annual State Women’s Convention on April 18 and will conclude on April 21, at the Crown Plaza Hotel, 17941 Von Karman Avenue in Irvine.  Day and evening sessions will be presented.  Bishop C.E. Southern California LA/SD/LV District

will hold its Annual Conference on April 19-21, at Grant A.M.E. Church, 10435 South Central Avenue in Los Angeles. Presiding Elder Roosevelt and Dr. Kaye Lindsey are the hosts and the Rev. Dr. Vernon Burroughs is pastor. Participants include Bishop T. Larry Kirkland, Sr., and Pastors Carrie L. Humphrey, Gayle Davis-Culp, Carolyn Baskin-Bell, Laurie McDonald and Rosalynn Brookins. Congregational Church of Christian Fellowship

St. John’s Episcopal Cathedral
will host a book signing by the Rev. Dr. Cecil ‘Chip’ Murray on April 21,

Ward A.M.E. Church
will sponsor the 2012 Lay Organization Ministry Weekend on April 21-22, at 1177 West 25th Street in Los Angeles, said Pastor Joseph C. Nixon. The Talent, Education and College Fair is set for Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, the Lay Worship Service will be held on Sunday at 10 a.m., and the ‘Festival of Choirs,’ sponsored by the Sanctuary Choir, on Sunday at 3 p.m. Mrs. Bridget Quilter is Lay president and Ron Lowe is Minister of Music.
