Community Chapel Church of God in Christ kicks-off ‘Womens Weekend 2015 on March 27, at 7 p.m., at 1307 North Willowbrook Avenue in Compton, said Pastors George and Betty Fort III. The theme is Removing the MaskLetting Go of Hidden Hurts That Hinder.  On March 28, at 10 a.m., a seminar for women takes place. On March 29, Evangelist Lorena Cromwell speaks at 11 a.m., and Pastor LaTonya Blake-Allen at 4 p.m.  Call (310) 537-5640 for details.

Emmanuel Church of God in Christ hosts its Annual Mens Fellowship Breakfast on March 28 at 7:30 a.m., at Hometown Buffet, 1230 W. Redondo Beach Blvd., in Gardena, said Pastor Wilbert Jones, Jr.  The donation is $15.


The ROCK Christian Fellowship offers free gasoline to women on March 28 from 9 a.m., until funds are exhausted, at Vons gas station, 1820 Ximeno Ave., in Long Beach, said Pastor Gregory Sanders. Each car will be eligible for the first $7.00 of gas free on a first come, first serve basis.

Windsor Hills Christian Book Center recognizes Womens History Month on March 28 at 2 p.m., at 4438 W. Slauson Ave., in Los Angeles. The program will honor women writers, pastors and ministers in the community.  The public is welcome to attend.  Refreshments will be served.

Grant A.M.E. Church – Long Beach plans ‘The Last Seven Words’ service on March 28 at 5 p.m., at 1129 Alamitos Ave., in Long Beach, said Pastor Michael W. Eagle, Sr.  Members of Grants ministerial staff will preach.  Call (562) 437-1567 for information.

Curry Temple C.M.E. Church celebrates Friends and Family Day on March 29, at 322 West Rosecrans Avenue in Compton, said Pastor Willie McDaniel. The theme is Friends and Family: Together We Can. Cheryl A. Estrada will speak at 10:30 a.m.  At 4 p.m., the Rev. Adell McDaniel will preach. Episcopal Church of St. Philip the Evangelist plans a Lenten Fish Supper Caribbean Style on March 31 at 2 p.m., at 2800 Stanford Ave., in Los Angeles. The festive event includes a fish and vegetables dinner, music, dancing and fun. The donation is $8. For information, call (323) 232-3494.

Hays Tabernacle C.M.E. Church hosts ?The Seven Last Words? service on April 3 at 12 p.m., at 10121 S. Central Ave., in Los Angeles, said the Rev. Mark A. Hardin, host pastor and presiding elder. The Southern California Region Ministerial Alliance and Womens Missionary Society sponsor the event. The preachers are Pastors Adam Stevenson, Bernard Jackson, Wendell Oldham, Sr., Joseph Gardner, Jr., Pansy Washington, John Deron Johnson and Willie McDaniel.
