Brookins Community A.M.E. Church will host a Summer Health Fair and Legal Clinic on August 11, at 4831 South Gramercy Place in Los Angeles, said Pastor C. Dennis Williams. The fair starts at 10 a.m., and features cooking demonstrations, Farmers Market, kids zone, health screenings and a Zumba class.  The Legal Clinic will outline veteran’s benefits at 2 p.m. For details on both events, call (323) 296-5610.

International Churches of Word Center & Affiliates will present a 12-week session for adult family members of individuals with mental illness starting August 14 at South LA Sports Activity Center, 7020 South Figueroa Street in Los Angeles. Pastors Alan and T. Marvene Wright will co-teach the classes.  The public is invited to attend.

Sisters in Ministry is partnering with International Churches of Word Center and Affiliates in an Annual Backpack Giveaway.
